Lesson 13: Work hard…stay humble

blog1Day 4, Lesson #13:

As 2016 is coming to an end… I’m planning for my vision board brunch! A small group of friends will join me this year, for a serving of goals and inspiration topped off with some booze and lots of laughter. I’m excited about it! Each year I lay out my visions and plan for the year in hopes that it all comes to pass. Now does everything on the board really happen–Of course not! But planning definitely helps the year flow.

“We have to let go of the life we have planned… to accept the one that is waiting for us…” -Joseph Campbell

When your plans look to be tumbling… dust yourself off and keep it moving! Honestly, your plans can limit you…and hold you back from what you’re destined to be. I watch Oprah’s Master Class quite frequently and often times the person sharing his or her success story points out that their life didn’t go as planned… instead it’s where destiny lead them.

“Be flexible with your goals.” – Robin Roberts, Oprah’s Master Class

Looking at my 2016 vision board…I see my struggle, my plan that changed about 16 times this year and my moments of success. The message that stands out the most is “Work hard… stay humble…” ( which is also a sign I now have hanging over my desk)! I took Robin Robert’s advice and ran with it in 2015…and continued to do so in 2016. I must say being flexible is working in my favor!

“God can dream a bigger dream for me, for you, than you could ever dream for yourself. When you’ve worked as hard and done as much and strived and tried and given and pled and bargained and hoped…surrender.” -Oprah’s Master Class

As I prepare to create my 2017 vision board, I’m planning out the year with the understanding that things won’t always go as planned, but it’s all a part of growth. I hope you’ll do the same… Dream BIG, be flexible and above all WORK HARD!
